GBORHO AHMUYAN ASSOCIATION 2006 REUNION
HELD IN THE BOROUGH OF COLWYN, PA
ON JULY 1, 2006.
Resolution; strategies for 2006/07:
WHEREAS, throughout the Association history, the Gborho Ahmuyan Association has used both traditional
and nontraditional means to achieve full equity for its members, including providing financial and moral
support to Gborho citizens residing in the United States and else where around the world.
WHEREAS, health care system in the Gborho clean is deplorable and endanger lives of the citizens of
Gborho people, it is hereby suggested that the following measures be taken to alleviated medical burdens
of our people: Establish a committee to evaluate the medical needs in the clan, conduct routine health check,
and help provide basic medical tools to Gborho clan to help the health care needs.
WHEREAS, the educational issues in Gborho clan is a serious concern. A speaker in educational issues advised
the conference that as Liberia recuperates from the destruction of the civil war, the need for service and
substantive service is conditioned upon quality education as a only path to the future development any community.
In so doing, membership should expedite financial assistance to Gborho Clan as a defining theme of this conference
and the following measures be taken to safeguard the educational institutions of the clan and provide sustainable
opportunities to the youths of the area to have basic educational facilities such as renovating school buildings,
and provide logistical support to the school system in the area.
WHEREAS, death benefits entitlement has been an issue that has brought people together in the past,
it is also an issue that is in the center of controversy and needs to be addressed with appropriate
policy. The conference has recommended that the following be addressed in individual case by case basis:
- The issue of non-active members
- Gborhos that are non members
- Parents and children of members
- And contribution limit
Hence fore, the conference has resolved that non-active members do not enjoy benefit. On the issue of
parents and children of members, local chapters must decide the issue. Finally, the contribution limit
should be limited to $50.00 per person and total amount be given to the family. Overall, no benefit for
member who is delinquent in dues payment.
WHEREAS, in case of Group Insurance: There are members of our community who do not have access to
life insurance. In this case a group insurance should be negotiated for the Association’s members
so that members of our community who do not have life insurance in the United States can purchase
same. It is therefore resolved that this benefit package be adopted to form part of our policy and
empowered the leadership to negotiate on behalf of the Association.
WHEREAS, other matter is defined as Reconciliation. This process of the recruitment of youth who
are high school graduate to be trained as teachers, and nurses and seek ways to resolve the land dispute.
The conference is recommending as resolution that Ahmuyan begin a process of support to train our people.
Notwithstanding, negotiation should begin for reconciliation between Gborho on one hand and Garbo on the east
of the clan, Tujlah Town Gbargbo people on the south-eastern of Gborho, and Pour Town Gbargbo people on Western
side of Gwien Town/Gborho for durable peace. Largely, it is resolved that Ahmuyan begin a process of negotiation
for genuine reconciliation of the various sections in Grand Gedeh. Hence, the theme of the reconciliation should
be strength found in diversity. It is recommended by the conference that the process begin as soon as possible.
It is further resolved that the venue of next reunion be held in Providence, Rhode Island, New England.
WHEREAS, the overall objective of this conference is to find reasonable resolution to these problems,
especially in the area of health care and education and to address the social, political and economic
well-being of our people. These areas mentioned above are essential to the economic development of any
community; a peaceful, healthy and educated community is a productive one. In so doing, this resolution
should form part of the strategic development plan for the Association.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the conference will adopt these issues as a pillow to our strategic
planning process and serve as the roadmap to our ongoing development plans in Gborho clan.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that this resolution be adopted to form part of the Association strategic plan.

Colwyn Pennsylvania, U.S.A. to pursue further development goal.
